Adding a DSB Printer

 

Click on the Start Menu, and then Click on the cog wheel.

Click on "Devices"

Click on "Printers & Scanners"

Click "Add Printer or Scanner" or “Add Device“ on the right

CHI DEVICES

If this is a CHI DEVICE please use the below, skip over this and go to the next section for Swansea University (TAWE) devices.

 

Click "The printer that I want isn't listed" or , this will appear after a minute of searching.

 

Select "Select a shared printer by name"

 

Type in "\\dfs4" then add another backslash to the end "\\DFS4\" will present a list of available printers. Select the required and proceed to complete the setup by pressing Next, until finish.

 

### If the predictive text does not appear please press "Browse" and type in \\dfs4 and press return in the left red circle area below, and press on the needed printer, and press "Select".

 

 

Swansea University (TAWE) Devices:

When the box above appears select “Add a printer using an IP address or hostname” then click “Next”

Click on the Dropdown list on “Device type” and select “TCP/IP Device” then click in the “Hostname or IP address” the IP of the desired printer (see list below) then click “Next” after ensuring that “Query the printer…” is ticked.

  • 10.152.2.11 - Floor 1 Printer

  • 10.152.2.12 - Floor 2 Printer

  • 10.152.2.13 - Floor 3 Printer

  • 10.152.2.14 - Floor 4 Printer

Once found it will attempt to install the printer.
If asked for a driver – press next until you have two columns, first with manufacturer names and the other will populate with driver names.
The manufacturer you need is “Ricoh” and the Driver you need is a “PCL6” driver.
Press “Next” when completed and the printer will be installed.
The final step is to Name the printer. I suggest something like “DSB Printer Floor #” but the choice is yours.
Click "Next" until "Finish" and finish the install
