How to Request Data Out
How to Request Data Out
- To remove any asset (Script, Graph, Document etc) from within SeRP, an approval process is required to go through before an asset is released.
- To request the removal of the asset you will need to be connected to SeRP and request the file from within the desktop environment.
- Once you are connected to the Secure Research Platform, each desktop has an icon which is titled “DataIn and DataOut” (see below for an example)
- Double click on the icon and you will be prompted with a page which has 4 actions
- To request the removal of an asset, double click on "Request File(s) Out"
- You will then be prompted with a page making you aware of the relevant disclosure control policies of your SeRP and an ability to upload the relevant files/assets. (See below for an example)
- Upload the relevant files through either dragging and dropping them or click to upload.
- You will also need to select which project that this activity is linked to and provide a description of the reason for the data out. Finally press "Send Request"
Retrieve your File Out Request
Following review of your data out request, you will be notified of either an approved, rejected or partially approved request.
To access the approved files, go to the portal website (Portal.XXXX.chi.swan.ac.uk) and select "Show File Out Requests"
You should then be presented with your list of "File Out Requests", this is broken down into Pending Requests (Those not ready for downloading) or Completed Requests (Ready to download)
To access the files, click on the icon on the right hand side to "View" the requests. You will then be presented with another screen to enable you to download the files individually (if more than one has been approved) or you can download them as a Zip.
