How to access SAIL services

What support does the SAIL Analytical Services Team offer?

SAIL Analytical Services is a multidisciplinary team, with a wide range of skills relevant to research. We provide tailored support to projects depending on their requirements, including provision of advice about using SAIL data, data cleaning and preparation of analysis-ready datasets, developing software tools to aid reproducible research, through to the production of finished reports and papers ready for submission to peer-reviewed journals. If you would like your project to include support from a SAIL Analyst, you can raise a Helpdesk ticket by logging in to the SAIL Portal https://portal.sail.ukserp.ac.uk// and clicking on the UKSeRP Helpdesk button. Under option 4, SAIL Databank, you will find an option to request Analyst Advice. If you are new to SAIL and do not have a user account, and would like to discuss a new project, you can get in touch via the Contact form on our website https://saildatabank.com/contact/. Once we have received your request, an analyst will be in touch shortly to discuss your requirements and the associated costs. 

I've paid for the data in my project to be refreshed - how do I request this?

If you have agreed a refresh as part of your project scoping, you can log in to the SAIL Portal https://portal.sail.ukserp.ac.uk// and click on the UKSeRP Helpdesk button. Under option 4, SAIL Databank, you will find an option to raise a Helpdesk ticket to request a refresh of your data. If a refresh wasn't included in your project scoping, you can request a refresh in the same way, but it will be chargeable. 

I've paid for support from the SAIL Analytical Services Team - how do I request this? 

Log in to the SAIL Portal https://portal.sail.ukserp.ac.uk// and click on the UKSeRP Helpdesk button. Under option 4, SAIL Databank, you will find an option to raise a Helpdesk ticket to request analyst advice. A SAIL Analyst will be in touch with you soon to discuss your requirements. 

How do I amend an existing project?

Log in to the SAIL Portal https://portal.sail.ukserp.ac.uk// and click on the UKSeRP Helpdesk button. Under option 4, SAIL Databank, you will find an option to raise a Helpdesk ticket to request an amendment or an extension to your project. You will need to complete an application form to request your amendment. In some cases, applications for amendment need approval from the SAIL Information Governance Review Panel (IGRP). Our administrator will guide you through the application process.
